October Birchbox Review
So this is going to be a very quick review of October's Birchbox because I am so far behind this month. For the month of October, I did choose the curated box because these are products that I wanted to try out. The first product is the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray.
From the Birchbox website "We’re turning to this ultrarelaxing pillow spray whenever we need help catching some z’s. It’s packed with 100% pure essential oils, including calming lavender, patchouli, and chamomile—all of which work together to lull us to sleep faster and help us wake up feeling more refreshed. The proof is in the stats: 89% of users in an independent study fell asleep faster and 92% felt more alert the next morning."
Ok, I could only smell strong lavender and patchouli. I love chamomile because it does gives a calming effect on me. This stuff..omg..well, first off, I had the top turned around the wrong way, and instead of spraying my pillow, I sprayed my face..My fault, not the product..Anyway, apparently I'm allergic to the spray and for migraine sufferers the patchouli was too strong..if it was just chamomile, I would buy this product in a heartbeat.
The second product was the Avène Hydrance Optimale Hydrating Cream RICH. This stuff is awesome. I love it!!! From Birchbox website : "If your skin feels drier than the Sahara Desert, we’d like to introduce you to the skincare equivalent of a tall glass of water. This deeply nourishing face cream for dry and sensitive skin restores skin’s natural moisture barrier and balances hydration levels throughout the day with a blend of targeted ingredients. Rich shea butter protects skin while Avène Thermal Spring Water gently soothes and softens without irritating. A combo of lipomucine and meiboserine work together to lock in optimum hydration and prevent dehydration. We can’t think of a better way to quench our skin’s thirst."
The third product was MAKE Silk Cream Lipstick. From Birchbox website: "We love a lipstick that delivers intense, long-lasting color—and this smudge-proof formula doesn’t disappoint. The hydrating, antioxidant-rich lipstick does double duty as a lip treatment, and, best of all, MAKE donates 10% of all sales to the We See Beauty Foundation, which supports women-led cooperatives."
I'm glad to find lipstick that doesn't smudge. This product does live up to it's name. I do wish the sample was bigger and I have to remind myself that hey, it's a sample.
The fourth product was GLAMGLOW® POWERMUD™ Dualcleanse Treatment. Two Thumbs up GlamGlow. From the Birchbox website: "BIRCHBOX BREAKDOWN
While water and oil may not mix, this innovative mask proves that mud and oil make (as unexpected as it sounds) quite the cleansing power couple. This unique formula starts out as mud then, when water is added, transforms into oil to deliver a thorough but oh-so-gentle deep clean. A powerhouse blend of four clays, including ultrarare Brazilian white clay, offers detoxifying benefits, while a mix of prickly pear, pine, frankincense, and myrrh oils help whisk away dirt and makeup while also leaving your complexion velvety soft."
The fifth and last product for this month's box was Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo. This stuff rocks..I don't think it is as good as my BigSexyHair Dry Shampoo, but it works good. It doesn't give me the volume I have with my normal brand, so I probably won't purchase this product and stick with what I've got.
Thanks guys for being patient with me this week. It's been pure craziness around here. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend..Bye!!
